The Morenish Woodland Trail is situated on the lower slopes of Ben Lawers. It is a short walk with excellent views of the mountains above and Loch Tay below, and the chance to discover a hidden waterfall.
CMC created the outline plan then went on to deliver the content and design the trail posts, map, leaflet and graphic panels.
The trail focuses on health and well being, encouraging walkers to look around at nature as they follow the path .
On this hillside, the National Trust for Scotland has removed a non-native conifer plantation that did not support much wildlife. They have replaced it with native species to boost biodiversity. Today, you can explore a healthy, recovering mountain woodland.

Titles and key messages were carefully translated into Gaelic by Roddy MacLean. The Gaelic word for ‘health’ – slàinte – comes from a root meaning ‘whole, complete’. Our own health is enhanced by being part of a whole, taking in land and nature.
For the trail posts, artwork was laser etched onto three sides of solid oak timbers and filled with black enamel paint, giving the appearance of it being wrapped around the post.
We chose to draw bespoke illustrations for the trail artwork, in a simple wood block print style with black ink.
