CMC have just completed a key stage in the Vision for Lanark’s Power Trail Project.
Working with our partners, Lanark Community Development Trust, New Lanark, the Scottish Wildlife Trust and with the support of Drax and SSE Renewable we have just installed the Trail’s graphic panels. The trail will be officially opened and promoted after Christmas.
The Power Trail runs for New Lanark to the Corra Linn falls and explores three themes along the Falls of Clyde: the heritage of hydropower, conserving the environment, and hydro-electricity today.
In the New Year the Trail will be supported by information packs and especially STEM education material. CMC is well on with producing these resources and workshops with teachers will be taking place shortly. The resources will link to the panels and locations along the Trail creating guided and self guided tours. For those that can’t visit the Falls there will be additional supporting materials and videos. So watch this space and of course the websites and social media of our partners.
