Following our work on ‘A Vision for Lanark 2020-30’ – including a successful public consultation – CMC was invited to develop a detailed Development Strategy for the Vision. This has been adopted by the Vision Partners and is supported by South Lanarkshire Council.
‘A Vision for Lanark – The Development Strategy 2022-30’ was launched earlier this year. It has already proven its worth as the town moves forward – prioritising and justifying the need for multiple initiatives. You can download a copy of the Strategy by clicking on the cover image to the left.
The Vision Partnership has been working together for a number of years, and they have now signed a formal agreement to work in partnership for the benefit of the local community and its heritage. They include: Lanark Community Development Trust (Lead Partner), Discover Lanark (Business Improvement District), New Lanark Trust (World Heritage Site Managers), Scottish Woodlands Trust (Clyde Valley Woodland Reserve/Falls of Clyde Managers). They are supported by South Lanarkshire Council, Border Biscuits Community Support and many others.

The task now is to convert planning into action and CMC has recently designed and organised the installation by Signergy of a series of welcome and orientation signs commissioned by Discover Lanark. The work was funded by Levenseat Trust and re-used, with a significant upgrade, existing old street furniture belonging to South Lanarkshire Council. A win win for the environment, community and its visitors.
