On Monday we spent the day with colleagues from the Scottish Wildlife Trust at Montrose Basin (many thanks for the hot coffee!). We were experimenting with video ‘digiscoping’ as a means of adding value to the current displays. Good results were achieved using low cost HD webcams on quite basic telescopes, so it is already clear that the existing kit can be economically upgraded and their video library readily extended. This will open the way for groups to use the visitor centre’s viewing area in new and exciting ways.
