Clients – Multiple sites and support ongoing
CMC has had extensive experience of planning, building, upgrading, archiving and managing websites. Websites come in all shapes and sizes and the software to build them seems to improve in leaps and bounds every year. Their function has changed with the growth of social media in all its forms – but they remain a mainstay of how organisations present themselves, are viewed and do business.
While we are always happy to build an individual website for clients, we are also often called to revisit and rejuvenate the purpose, function and content of existing sites. Whatever the starting point, the process invariably involves planning the website’s interactive structure, reviewing the available content (text and media), then carefully selecting the appropriate styles and themes for the interfaces and look and feel.
Websites themselves are increasingly linked in with other platforms and media channels. At the same time sites have to be fully responsive and able to run well on different platforms – from smart phones to 4K Desktops. Landing pages, especially for high value sites, can be visually rich and often involve video clips. Many sites pull in content from other digital sources using APIs. This can be content from our own Digital Asset Management System, CMC Flow, or other websites and archives. Optimising all content so that it can run well on average broadband or 4G can be a challenge.

I had hoped that this would attract people from all over, but ironically it was the nimbleness of the team to go digital in response to Covid that really struck the chord. Expanding the website and using social media to include an online festival was simply fantastic. Thanks to you and all the team for making my vision come to life in a really meaningful way.
