Client: Aberdeenshire Council, March 2019
CMC has designed and built a dynamic website to tell the stories of Banff and Macduff and their different shared heritage. The website has been created as a community resource where stories and images can be added to keep it evolving. In addition, CMC has produced nine walking tours for use on users’ own mobile devices, created to give both locals and visitors a chance to discover the hidden history of the area, as told by members of the local community, whilst following routes around the towns.
The information on the website and mobile tours complements the physical interpretation panels in the towns and gives more information about the buildings, characters, themes and places of interest involved in the various chapters of the towns’ histories. CMC trained the Aberdeenshire Council project team and other stakeholders in the use of CMC Flow for digital resource management and will continue to support them in their ongoing building of a digital archive.
