CMC Flow – 2010 ongoing
We built CMC Flow, our own Digital Asset Management System (DAMS), using the open-source database Resource Space over ten years ago now. Since then it has been maintained and upgraded by us and used by many of our clients. It has been an invaluable aid not just to content exchange and development but also remote working with both client staff and volunteers.
CMC Flow came about because we wanted to help organisations to maximise their own unique resources, including the work done on content by us, their staff and increasingly their volunteers. Flow helps us all to work together more efficiently – creating high quality, flexible and dynamic content for platforms ranging from traditional exhibitions to websites and social media streams.
Key features of CMC Flow:
- Assess and organise resources (stories, objects, photographs, audio recordings and more) into a carefully tailored online digital asset management system.
- Use these resources to create high quality, cost effective exhibitions, websites, mobile apps and social media interaction.
- Efficient and flexible workflows ensure that deployed content can be readily updated while original resources and work are automatically archived.
- Full training and ongoing support for professionals and volunteers is provided by CMC’s experienced team.
- Our unique blend of skills in digital technology, design, interpretation and social media allows us to tailor workflows that are specific to your project.
Cupar Heritage found CMC Associates to be most supportive partners in the joint projects that we have undertaken to present the history of Cupar. They enhanced our capabilities and capacity to take forward ambitious plans. Continuing access to CMC Flow as a digital tool has provided our volunteers with a visual resource that continues to grow and aid understanding of our local history.
