CMC Associates developed an engaging interactive touch screen display to help users explore two rare medieval letters in detail, revealing the words and meanings behind the documents. It also illustrated the ancestry of the various competitors for the Scottish crown. We digitally reconstructed the placement of family seals on the now-damaged Bruce document. Then visitors are invited to vote for ‘Who was the greater Scottish hero – Bruce or Wallace’? A level of democracy that was perhaps absent at the time but which proved very popular with visitors.
