Carved Stone Ball, Skara Brae
Stone Ball, ground. Spherical ball with 67 ground pyramidal knobs forming five rows, with two groups of four knobs at the top and bottom. The knobs and rows are separated by deep grooves.

This carved ball was found near a limpet box in House 3 during the 1861 to 67 excavations.
It has been classified as a Marshall’s Type 7
